Nexo has strengthened its European operations by using two German MiCAR-licensed partners for custody and brokerage across the European Economic Area.
The digital asset platform said the setup supports product compliance before the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation enters into force. The model separates custody and brokerage functions while keeping Nexo services available to users.
Nexo Strengthens EEA Compliance Setup
Nexo said Tangany will provide institutional-grade digital asset custody under the new structure. DLT Finance will support brokerage for digital assets and financial instruments.
DLT Finance holds authorization under MiFID II and MiCAR. Nexo said the arrangement combines its wealth platform with regulated European infrastructure for custody and trading services.
The company said Europe remains central to its global strategy. Nexo Chief Product Officer Yasen Yankov said the firm had spent years preparing for MiCAR and selected partners with strong regulatory and technical standards.
Yankov said, “Europe is where Nexo was built, and it remains central to our global strategy.” He added that Nexo services continue “in the usual way with no disruptions” after the testing phase.
Tangany Handles Custody While DLT Finance Supports Brokerage
Tangany will manage custody infrastructure for Nexo’s EEA operations. The company provides regulated digital asset custody services and will support asset protection under the new European framework.
Tangany CEO Martin Kreitmair said the partnership shows what firms can build under the post-MiCAR market structure. He said, “What our three teams achieved together despite the project’s complexity sets a blueprint for institutions navigating the European market.”
DLT Finance will provide market infrastructure and execution capabilities. The company’s role covers brokerage support across crypto assets and financial instruments for Nexo’s European product setup.
Alan Kennedy, Senior Partnerships Manager at DLT Finance, said strong platforms rely on infrastructure that works without creating friction for clients. He said DLT Finance will support Nexo with execution tools needed across multiple products.
MiCAR Framework Shapes European Crypto Operations
MiCAR creates a common regulatory framework for crypto asset services across the European Union. Platforms operating in the EEA are adjusting custody, brokerage, and product structures to meet the new standards.
Nexo said its localized model reflects those requirements by assigning specific roles to licensed partners. The company will rely on Tangany for custody and DLT Finance for brokerage infrastructure.
The approach allows Nexo to keep serving European clients while aligning products with the changing rules. The company said its services remain available without interruptions during the transition.
For Nexo, the structure also reinforces Europe as a key market. The platform said regulated partnerships will support custody, trading, and broader digital asset services across the EEA.
