The multiyear agreement encompasses three critical elements of the PAC-3 MSE interceptor system: the dual-pulse solid rocket motor, Attitude Control Motors, and the Lethality Enhancer component. This final element functions as an explosive mechanism engineered to expand the effective kill zone of the ground-launched PAC-3 against incoming threats such as cruise missiles.
According to Ken Bedingfield, President of Missile Solutions at L3Harris, the organization has begun readying its manufacturing facilities and supply chain partners for the anticipated surge in production volume.
The framework is projected to reach finalization before year-end and leverages multi-year procurement authorization to establish a sustained contractual arrangement.
Manufacturing Expansion Plans
In preparation for fulfilling this contract, L3Harris has committed substantial resources to expanding its production infrastructure. The defense contractor is developing roughly 60 new facilities and incorporating or modernizing close to one million square feet of manufacturing and administrative workspace throughout its solid rocket motor production locations in Alabama, Virginia, and Arkansas.
The primary PAC-3 MSE motor production facility operates from Camden, Arkansas, equipped with specialized processing areas and state-of-the-art automated digital X-ray systems. With this new framework agreement in place, L3Harris anticipates increasing output from this location by approximately 300%.
This contract victory follows an impressive recent quarterly performance. The company delivered earnings of $2.72 per share in the first quarter, exceeding Wall Street’s consensus projection of $2.53 by $0.19. Top-line revenue reached $5.74 billion, surpassing the $5.42 billion estimate and representing an 11.9% increase compared to the prior year period.
Management reiterated its fiscal 2026 EPS outlook of $11.40 to $11.60, while the analyst community anticipates full-year EPS of $11.54.
