Ethereum successfully reclaimed the $1,700 threshold on July 3, hovering around $1,715 following a substantial 24-hour gain surpassing 6%. This upward movement restored ETH to a price point that market participants have been monitoring intently following an extended period of downward pressure.

The price rebound coincided with renewed capital flows into U.S.-based spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds. Data from SoSoValue indicates that spot ETFs captured $29.08 million in aggregate net inflows on July 2. BlackRock’s ETHA product dominated with $29.74 million in contributions, while Grayscale’s ETHE experienced withdrawals totaling $2.75 million.
Market commentator Daan Crypto Trades shared his perspective on the price action via social platforms. He observed that ETH had achieved a 10% weekly gain and was now challenging the February bottom around $1,750. He characterized this level as pivotal for reclamation, stating it would “signal some strength.” He emphasized that this identical zone validated a structural market shift in 2025, lending it historical significance. He clarified he maintained no definitive stance at present and was monitoring how price responds to resistance upon candle close.
Ethereum has also generated a monthly TD Sequential buy signal — an infrequent technical occurrence. Market analyst Ali Charts stated the signal suggests seller exhaustion across an extended timeframe. Historical monthly buy signals preceded rallies of 235% in 2022 and 182% in 2025. While the indicator doesn’t validate a fresh bull market, it has captured the interest of technically-focused traders.
Technical Analysis Overview
The MACD histogram displays a positive reading at 19.33, with the MACD line having crossed upward through the signal line. Nevertheless, both lines persist below the zero threshold, indicating the trend hasn’t completely reversed direction. The RSI has strengthened to approximately 51.85, climbing above its moving average of 38.12 and crossing the neutral 50 benchmark.
Ethereum bounced from a double-bottom formation near $1,565. The subsequent resistance zone is positioned at $1,800, with $2,000 representing the next major barrier. A concentration of liquidity around $1,740–$1,750 exists immediately above the current trading range, which may attract price higher in the near term.
Crypto analyst Patel highlighted that ETH just completed its first-ever sequence of three consecutive red quarters since its inception — an unprecedented occurrence in Ethereum’s market chronicle.
