Cryptocurrency exchange Bitbank, operating from Japan, has unveiled a Visa credit card enabling customers to pay bills using bitcoin stored on the platform. Monday’s announcement detailed the partnership with EPOS Card, Marui Group’s financial technology division. This offering lets customers link their exchange holdings to card payments and set up automated settlement through digital currencies.
Direct Cryptocurrency Payment Integration Goes Live
Bitbank revealed its collaboration with EPOS Card resulted in the “EPOS Crypto Card for Bitbank,” carrying Visa branding. The exchange explained the card creates a direct connection between customer cryptocurrency holdings and payment obligations. According to the company, this represents Japan’s inaugural service enabling credit card bill settlement straight from a crypto exchange account.
Customers have the option to enable automated Bitcoin repayment directly from their Bitbank portfolios. The platform confirmed bitcoin stands as the sole supported cryptocurrency for settlement presently. According to Bitbank, additional digital assets may receive support down the line.
Cashback Incentives and Industry Developments
Card users earn cryptocurrency cashback at a rate of 0.5% calculated on aggregate monthly purchases. Bitbank provides reward selection across bitcoin, ether, or Aster. The platform automatically credits these rewards into user accounts on Bitbank.
According to Bitbank’s official statement, the card creates synergy between routine transactions and cryptocurrency portfolio management. The exchange noted customers can oversee both repayment processes and reward accumulation through their standard exchange interfaces. Both partner organizations indicated they will assess opportunities to extend cryptocurrency compatibility.
Binance Japan introduced its cryptocurrency-integrated credit card offering earlier this year. The “Binance Japan Card” provides users BNB earnings on qualifying transactions. That debut reflected mounting enthusiasm for crypto payment solutions throughout Japan.
Bitbank verified the card functions within the Visa payment network. The platform indicated users can submit applications through its interface and connect exchange accounts during the registration process. According to the company, bitcoin holdings must fully cover repayment obligations by the payment deadline.
The exchange stressed that users retain complete authority over cryptocurrency assets until payment processing occurs. The company clarified the platform withdraws Bitcoin exclusively at billing cycle completion. Bitbank provided no specific schedule regarding additional token integration for the payment feature.
EPOS Card handles card distribution and transaction processing under this collaboration. Bitbank manages cryptocurrency balance connectivity and reward fulfillment. Both organizations stated they will evaluate user feedback after the product debut.
Bitbank described the offering as connecting digital currency holdings with everyday spending needs. The company confirmed users can monitor expenditures and earned rewards within their accounts. Monday’s announcement coincided with immediate availability for applications.
