For Ethereum, Robinhood uses a batch-processing method that combines stakes from various users to meet the 32 ETH required to become a validator. In return, users can earn staking rewards, which range from 50% to 100% of the protocol rate. The actual reward percentage varies based on Robinhood’s aggregation approach.
Solana staking, meanwhile, operates in a similar manner, allowing users to lock SOL tokens in the network to earn rewards. Robinhood handles the technical complexities of staking, making it user-friendly for those with limited experience in cryptocurrency. As part of the service, Robinhood ensures users receive rewards from their staked tokens while handling the necessary technical setup and requirements.
Availability and Limitations
While Robinhood has launched Ethereum and Solana staking services across the U.S., there are a few restrictions. The service is not yet available in some states, including California, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Wisconsin.
Customers residing in these areas will not have access to staking until further updates are made. Robinhood has yet to specify when or if these services will be extended to those regions.
