Rocket Lab Corporation announced Monday it will launch Synspective’s seventh StriX satellite on October 14 UTC. The mission will lift off from Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand.

The launch, named “Owl New World,” carries the first of Synspective’s next-generation Synthetic Aperture Radar satellites. These satellites collect Earth observation data used for disaster response, national security, and environmental monitoring.

The launch window opens at 16:30 UTC on October 14. That translates to 5:30 am NZDT on October 15 in New Zealand and 12:30 pm ET on October 14 in the United States.
This marks the seventh mission Rocket Lab has flown for the Japanese company. The partnership runs deep, with Rocket Lab serving as the exclusive launch provider for the entire StriX constellation.
The companies have 21 total missions planned together. Synspective aims to complete its full Earth-imaging constellation by the end of the decade.
Launch Cadence and Track Record
The upcoming mission represents Rocket Lab’s 15th launch in 2025. The company has maintained a perfect mission success rate this year across all launches.
Rocket Lab has completed 73 total missions since operations began. The company projects it will exceed 20 launches by the end of 2025.
The Electron rocket will carry the StriX satellite to orbit. Rocket Lab describes the Electron as the world’s most frequently launched commercial small orbital rocket.
The stock has climbed over 470% in the past year. The company maintains a current ratio of 2.67, showing healthy liquidity.
Contract Details and Future Plans
The latest mission fulfills part of a larger contract between the two companies. Synspective secured a second multi-launch agreement with Rocket Lab earlier this year for 10 additional dedicated Electron launches.
That agreement brought the total planned missions to 21. It represents the largest order of dedicated Electron launches from a single customer.
Rocket Lab provides launch services, spacecraft, and satellite components. The company serves commercial, government, and national security markets.
The partnership extends beyond just launch services. Rocket Lab’s role as sole provider demonstrates the company’s position in the small satellite launch market.
Each StriX satellite carries Synthetic Aperture Radar technology. This allows the satellites to capture images regardless of weather conditions or time of day.
The constellation will provide continuous Earth observation data once complete. Applications include monitoring for natural disasters and tracking environmental changes.
The next-generation satellites carry upgraded technology compared to earlier versions. The improvements enhance the data quality and collection capabilities.
Rocket Lab operates Launch Complex 1 as its primary launch facility. The site in New Zealand provides access to multiple orbital inclinations.
The company recently launched a $750 million at-the-market offering program. Several investment banks serve as sales agents for the offering.
Rocket Lab also delivered two spacecraft to Kennedy Space Center for NASA’s ESCAPADE mission. That mission will study solar wind interactions with Mars’ magnetosphere.
The October 14 launch represents the next step in completing Synspective’s planned constellation by 2030.
