TLDR
- Over 119,000 users completed second migrations of transferable balances
- Referral bonuses depend on team members completing KYC verification
- First migrations continue and remain the network’s top priority
- Two-factor authentication is required before any migration
- Second migrations involve complex reward calculations and blockchain checks
Pi Network has expanded its second migration phase after Pi Day 2026. The update allows eligible users to transfer more tokens to Mainnet. This includes balances earned after their first migration.
The network confirmed that over 119,000 users have already completed second migrations. These transfers include referral mining bonuses tied to verified team members. The rollout continues in phases to ensure system stability.
The company stated that first migrations still take priority. It also clarified that second migrations do not slow down the initial migration process. Users waiting for their first migration remain unaffected.
This update follows earlier plans outlined in the Mainnet migration roadmap. It aims to move more tokens into active use while maintaining fairness across the network.
Referral bonuses and KYC remain key requirements
Referral mining bonuses form a major part of second migrations. These rewards depend on whether referral team members have passed KYC checks. Without verification, those bonuses cannot be transferred.
Pi Network has encouraged users to remind their teams to complete KYC. This step ensures that all eligible rewards can be included in future migrations. The process links each reward to verified user activity.
The system calculates bonuses based on each mining session. Because of this, the process requires detailed checks and accurate tracking. Each transaction must reflect correct reward data before it reaches the blockchain.
The network said this stage required careful testing. It noted that reward distribution affects blockchain records, so accuracy is essential. This approach aims to maintain trust in the system.
Security steps and growing ecosystem support migrations
Before any migration, users must complete wallet security steps. Two-factor authentication is required through the Mainnet Checklist. This step protects accounts before irreversible transfers occur.
Some users may also need to add a trusted email address. This ensures secure verification during the process. Once completed, users become eligible for migration queues.
At the same time, the Pi ecosystem continues to expand. New tools such as Pi App Studio and the Pi Launchpad are increasing network use. Some features are already active, while others remain in testing.
The network plans to introduce periodic migrations after current queues are cleared. The timing of these cycles has not been finalized. However, the goal is to support ongoing token movement as adoption grows.
