Government to Lead Global Bitcoin Event in San Salvador

The Salvadoran government announced it will host Bitcoin Histórico, marking the first time a state organizes a Bitcoin-focused international conference. The two-day event will take place in the historic center of San Salvador. The National Palace, National Theater, and National Library (BINAES) will serve as the main venues. Large LED screens will also be installed at Plaza Gerardo Barrios to broadcast key sessions to the public.

The event is being coordinated by the National Bitcoin Office, which was established to oversee Bitcoin-related matters in the country. President Bukele has remained a strong supporter of Bitcoin since El Salvador became the first country to make it legal tender in 2021. His administration continues to invest in Bitcoin through daily purchases and has confirmed national holdings of over 6,200 BTC.
