Shares of CoreWeave experienced a notable uptick of more than 4% in Wednesday’s premarket session following the announcement of a strategic multi-year collaboration with AI-powered search provider Perplexity.
Axios initially broke the news of this partnership. The arrangement enables Perplexity to execute its advanced AI inference operations on CoreWeave’s specialized cloud infrastructure.
The AI search platform will utilize exclusive NVIDIA GB200 NVL72-powered cluster configurations for these computational demands. This infrastructure framework aims to accommodate Perplexity’s Sonar and Search API platform as user engagement continues expanding.

Mike Intrator, CEO of CoreWeave, characterized the agreement as a strategic expansion of the company’s customer portfolio. “This partnership reflects a wider mix of emerging AI leaders adopting the CoreWeave platform,” Intrator shared with Axios. “Like many others, they choose us for our unified AI cloud platform — not just access to capacity.”
Perplexity has initiated inference operations utilizing CoreWeave Kubernetes Service during the preliminary deployment stage.
The organization is simultaneously employing W&B Models for training, refinement, and orchestration of models throughout the entire development lifecycle.
What Attracted Perplexity to CoreWeave
Dmitry Shevelenko, serving as chief business officer at Perplexity, pointed to both technological excellence and collaborative support as primary factors in selecting CoreWeave. “CoreWeave is an essential partner in our efforts to optimize our infrastructure and the models we use to provide Perplexity users across industries with the strongest AI tools and agents on the market,” he explained.
Max Hjelm, SVP of revenue at CoreWeave, emphasized that production-level AI systems require comprehensive infrastructure solutions. “AI applications running in production require best-in-class performance and reliability as well as a cloud platform designed end-to-end for AI,” he noted.
This collaboration aligns with Perplexity’s multi-cloud infrastructure approach, providing operational flexibility across various service providers.
A Reciprocal Business Relationship
Beyond providing cloud infrastructure, CoreWeave intends to deploy Perplexity Enterprise Max throughout its internal operations. This implementation will provide CoreWeave team members with comprehensive capabilities including web search, internal knowledge search, research functionality, data visualization tools, and AI model integration.
The arrangement benefits both parties — CoreWeave secures a significant infrastructure customer, while Perplexity gains a substantial enterprise deployment of its platform within a rapidly expanding AI infrastructure company.
CoreWeave has earned Platinum status in both the SemiAnalysis ClusterMAX 1.0 and 2.0 assessments, benchmark evaluations that assess AI cloud infrastructure performance, operational efficiency, and system reliability. The company stands as the sole AI cloud service provider to secure this top-tier designation in both assessment iterations.
Following its recent public market debut, CoreWeave has been actively expanding its enterprise AI customer base. This Perplexity partnership represents another prominent addition to its growing client roster.
CRWV stock traded up more than 4% in premarket activity on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
