Behind the platform, Apex Fintech Solutions provides the critical infrastructure for trade clearing, asset custody, and order execution. This arrangement allows Coinbase to manage the user-facing interface while Apex operates the essential brokerage mechanics.
This development follows previous groundwork. The company tested a limited equities offering this past December before Tuesday’s comprehensive nationwide deployment.

Accompanying this broader release, Coinbase has formed a strategic alliance with Yahoo Finance. The established financial information hub will integrate a “Trade on Coinbase” button directly on individual stock and cryptocurrency information pages, streamlining the path from analysis to action.
Yahoo Finance will simultaneously incorporate live market data sourced from Coinbase for enhanced tracking capabilities. Neither organization revealed the financial arrangements underpinning this partnership.

Taking on Robinhood Directly
This strategic expansion places Coinbase in head-to-head rivalry with Robinhood, the pioneering platform that established commission-free equity trading before venturing into cryptocurrency markets.
