Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong is no longer among the world’s 500 richest people. Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index reported his net worth has dropped by over $10 billion in just seven months. From a high of $17.7 billion, Armstrong’s wealth now stands at approximately $7.5 billion.

The sharp fall comes as Coinbase’s share price has tracked the broader downturn in the cryptocurrency sector. A recent report by JPMorgan Chase & Co. reduced its price target for Coinbase by 27%. This downgrade had a direct effect on the value of Armstrong’s holdings, which are heavily tied to Coinbase stock.
JPMorgan’s Downgrade Adds Pressure
JPMorgan’s decision to lower its outlook for Coinbase has further increased the volatility surrounding the company. The investment bank’s report pointed to weakening trading volumes and continued regulatory pressure on crypto platforms.
The downgrade created added uncertainty for investors and placed downward pressure on Coinbase’s stock. As Armstrong holds a large amount of Coinbase equity, this move resulted in a sharp loss in personal wealth. This financial shift was enough to remove him from Bloomberg’s global wealth ranking.
Other Crypto Executives Also Affected
Armstrong is not the only crypto billionaire facing financial losses. Several other key figures in the digital asset space have seen their fortunes shrink in recent months.
Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, co-founders of Gemini, now each have a net worth of $1.9 billion. Galaxy Digital CEO Mike Novogratz has seen his wealth fall to $6.2 billion from $10.3 billion.
Meanwhile, Michael Saylor, chairman of MicroStrategy, has lost nearly two-thirds of his wealth since July 2025. His current estimated net worth is $3.4 billion.
Changpeng Zhao Remains Among Wealthiest
Changpeng Zhao, founder of Binance, continues to hold a much higher ranking. As of now, he is listed at 36th on Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index. His wealth is valued at $52.2 billion.
Most of Zhao’s wealth is tied to the valuation of Binance and his personal cryptocurrency holdings. Despite recent regulatory scrutiny and market pressure, he remains one of the most financially secure individuals in the crypto space.
The combined losses among crypto leaders reflect the overall downturn in the digital asset market. With prices of key assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum fluctuating, and regulatory developments continuing, the financial standing of crypto-focused executives remains uncertain.
