Institutional Participation Dampening Bitcoin Price Swings
Wood emphasized that Bitcoin has evolved beyond its experimental phase. She highlighted how institutional investment now influences trading dynamics and limits extreme volatility. During her CNBC interview, she remarked, “Bitcoin has matured into a more dependable financial infrastructure.”
She referenced historical drawdowns reaching 95% as products of nascent market development. She emphasized that comparable declines appear improbable moving forward. She described 50% corrections as increasingly acceptable thresholds within cryptocurrency circles.
Bitcoin was valued at $67,230 during publication and continued trading beneath the $70,000 level. The cryptocurrency remained approximately 47% below its October 6, 2025 record of $126,080. Despite this, Wood affirmed that fundamental demand continues expanding.
Ark Invest Preserves $761,900 Price Forecast for Bitcoin
Ark Invest anticipates Bitcoin achieving a $16 trillion market capitalization by decade’s end. The investment firm disclosed this forecast within its Big Ideas 2026 publication. Given the fixed 21 million coin supply, this valuation translates to $761,900 per Bitcoin.
The firm projects compound annual growth approaching 63% throughout the five-year horizon. It models expansion from approximately $2 trillion currently to $16 trillion by 2030. Wood credited institutional involvement as a primary driver supporting this outlook.
Ark documented that American spot Bitcoin ETFs alongside publicly traded corporations control roughly 12% of circulating supply. ETF assets under management climbed from 1.12 million BTC to 1.29 million BTC throughout 2025. Corporate balance sheets expanded their positions from 598,000 BTC to 1.09 million BTC over the identical timeframe.
Their collective ownership increased from 8.7% to 12% within a twelve-month span. Ark attributes this accumulation to deepening financial system integration. Wood characterized Bitcoin as increasingly recognized by institutions as a digital wealth preservation tool.
Ark modified its bullish 2030 scenario during November 2025. The firm lowered its maximum target by $300,000 compared to earlier models. It identified expanding stablecoin adoption as contributing to the adjustment.
Previous projections established a range spanning $300,000 to $1.5 million by 2030. The revised analysis compressed that ceiling. Ark published the modified estimates in November 2025.
