On Wednesday, September 9, Canary Capital’s Canary Staked TRX ETF made its market debut, listed under the ticker TRXS on the Cboe exchange. This marks the first exchange-traded fund in America offering staked exposure to TRON’s blockchain token.
The investment product provides market participants with TRX exposure via conventional brokerage platforms, eliminating the need for direct token custody or manual staking operations. According to Canary Capital, the trust will stake nearly its entire TRX reserve.
The fund retains 80% of all staking income, which gets incorporated into the daily calculation of net asset value, while staking-related expenses are limited to 20% of generated yields. Investors face an annual management fee of 1.10% on the fund’s TRX assets.
BitGo Bank & Trust provides custody services for the fund’s Tron holdings. U.S. Bank manages cash operations, with U.S. Bancorp Fund Services handling administrative functions, accounting responsibilities, and transfer agency duties.
Digital asset analyst Don Wedge commented on social platforms that “$TRX looking strong” after the ETF announcement, suggesting favorable market reception to the product’s arrival in US investment channels.
TRON’s Dominance in Stablecoin Transfers
Justin Sun, the founder behind TRON, characterized the ETF as validation of the network’s importance. “The launch of the Canary Staked TRX ETF demonstrates the growing recognition of the TRON network as critical infrastructure for the global digital economy,” Sun stated.
Based on Messari’s August 10 analysis, TRON handled $2.1 trillion in USDT transaction volume throughout Q2 2026. The blockchain’s aggregate stablecoin market capitalization reached $89.2 billion, with USDT representing $87.9 billion of that figure.

Daily average USDT transfer activity increased 4.3% quarter-over-quarter to $22.8 billion. The TRON network surpassed 15 billion cumulative transactions by early August since its initial deployment.
Expanding Crypto ETF Portfolio at Canary
Steven McClurg, CEO of Canary Capital, emphasized that investor interest extends beyond individual tokens to the underlying blockchain ecosystems. “TRON has become a critical piece of the infrastructure powering digital asset payments and settlement,” McClurg remarked.
Canary submitted the initial Form S-1 registration document for this fund in April 2025. Subsequent amendments incorporated details including the trading symbol, exchange listing, custodial partners, and staking methodology.
The TRXS structure diverges from certain alternative cryptocurrency ETF approaches. Both VanEck and Grayscale excluded staking components from their proposed BNB ETF frameworks, whereas Canary integrated staking functionality as a core feature of TRXS.
Bitwise submitted its own SEC application for a TRX-linked ETF in December 2025, proposing an alternative design permitting up to 60% direct cryptocurrency exposure supplemented by related investment vehicles or derivative instruments.
At the time of TRXS launch, TRX commanded a $32.1 billion market capitalization, securing the eighth position among all digital currencies. Binance.US reinstated spot TRX trading capabilities earlier this year, while Bitnomial introduced regulated TRX futures contracts on July 27.
