Spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds in the United States captured $986.9 million in net inflows during the past week, continuing a three-week positive trend. BlackRock Dominates Bitcoin ETF Capital Inflows
BlackRock’s IBIT commanded the field by attracting $691.5 million in net inflows for the week concluding September 4. This performance built on a robust August, during which spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $3.52 billion, representing their strongest monthly performance since September 2025.
Trading volumes decreased even as capital flows strengthened. The weekly trading volume for these investment vehicles reached $14.5 billion, down from approximately $19 billion the week before. Market observers attributed the sustained inflows to growing institutional participation rather than leverage-driven speculation.
Spot ether ETFs in the United States registered $218.4 million in net inflows last week, extending their positive streak to three weeks. The weekly trading volume totaled $4.1 billion, compared with $6.3 billion in the preceding period.
Ether-focused funds also demonstrated strength in August. They gathered $1.85 billion in monthly inflows, achieving their strongest monthly performance since August 2025. These combined metrics demonstrated consistent appetite across both primary crypto ETF markets.
Bitcoin Leverage Reset Stabilizes Futures Environment
Bitcoin was trading around $79,951 late Sunday following a Thursday high near $81,700. Zeus Research analyst Dominick John noted that maintaining the $80,000 level preserves a favorable market structure, while Presto Research associate Min Jung highlighted returning institutional appetite.
CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost observed that Bitcoin recently underwent its most significant deleveraging episode since 2023. This adjustment followed a major liquidation event that cleared excessive leverage from derivatives markets and forced crowded trading positions to close.
Binance Bitcoin open interest temporarily fell below its 180-day moving average before rebounding to approximately $9.6 billion. This figure remains above the $8.3 billion average and accounts for roughly 37% of total Bitcoin open interest.
Traders have resumed activity following the leverage reset, though another swift buildup in leverage could elevate liquidation risks should volatility resurface. Market participants are now monitoring U.S. jobless claims scheduled for September 10 and CPI figures due September 11. These economic indicators could influence expectations regarding Federal Reserve policy, bond yields, market liquidity, and Bitcoin’s trajectory.
John anticipates Bitcoin advancing toward the $82,000 to $85,000 range provided macroeconomic conditions remain favorable. Jung cautioned that stronger inflation data could pressure the market by altering rate expectations and liquidity flows across risk assets during the coming week.
