Shares of Robinhood (HOOD) advanced during Monday’s pre-market session following the platform’s introduction of digital asset trading services across the United Kingdom. HOOD reached $94.47, climbing 1.26% after finishing Friday’s session up 2.84% at $93.29. The advancement came as Robinhood activated cryptocurrency capabilities for qualifying UK-based users through its Bitstamp partnership.
UK Users Gain Access to Bitcoin and Ethereum Trading
Robinhood has activated access to more than 50 digital currencies for qualified UK account holders directly within its primary investment application. The cryptocurrency offering operates alongside existing products including equities, options, futures, and stocks and shares ISAs. Bitstamp UK Ltd manages all cryptocurrency transactions through its established UK regulatory framework.
The platform implements a zero-fee structure eliminating trading commissions, custody charges, and account maintenance costs. Users incur a 0.1% foreign exchange conversion fee when exchanging currencies. Weekend conversions trigger an elevated 0.3% foreign exchange charge.
This expansion became possible after Robinhood UK secured placement on the FCA cryptoasset register on July 31. The registration permits the firm to deliver designated crypto services while complying with anti-money laundering regulations. Additional authorization will be required under forthcoming UK cryptocurrency legislation.
Digital Asset Portfolio Includes XRP and HYPE
The UK cryptocurrency selection features XRP and HYPE among numerous digital assets now accessible to users. Robinhood’s infrastructure relies on Bitstamp’s technology platform following the finalization of its $200 million acquisition of the exchange. This strategic purchase provided Robinhood with proven infrastructure supporting global crypto service expansion.
Concurrent with the UK deployment, Robinhood unveiled Cortex Digests for Crypto. This analytical tool synthesizes market statistics, technical analysis, news coverage, and proprietary data to clarify cryptocurrency price movements. The feature aims to deliver enhanced market intelligence to platform users.
The organization has simultaneously expanded blockchain infrastructure through Robinhood Chain powered by Arbitrum technology. Since launching July 1, the network has processed over $18 billion in decentralized exchange transactions. The platform has also accumulated more than $840 million in total value locked.
HOOD Shares Rise Amid Product Diversification Strategy
The UK service activation follows reduced cryptocurrency revenue performance in the company’s second quarter results. Crypto transaction revenue declined 38% year-over-year to $100 million during the reporting period. Prediction markets generated $156 million, surpassing crypto transaction revenue for the first time in company history.
Overall net revenue climbed 32% year-over-year to $1.31 billion for the quarter. Net income surged 48% to $573 million versus the second quarter of 2025. The company simultaneously expanded Stock Tokens and finalized its acquisition of WonderFi, a Canadian cryptocurrency platform.
Prior to the UK launch, Robinhood submitted regulatory filings for its second publicly traded venture fund. Robinhood Ventures Fund II targets capital raises up to $200 million with trading scheduled to commence August 13. This comprehensive expansion strategy reinforces Robinhood’s commitment to diversifying financial products across strategic international territories.
