Ethereum currently changes hands near $1,923, reflecting approximately 1% gains over the past 24-hour period. Following a recovery from $1,820 levels last week, the digital asset has maintained upward momentum within an ascending channel pattern throughout August.
Exchange-traded funds focused on Ethereum captured $244.94 million in net weekly inflows, representing the most robust performance in approximately four months. Total cumulative net inflows have reached $11.46 billion, while weekly transaction volume touched $2.38 billion.
Market analyst Ted (@TedPillows) shared the findings on X: “$ETH ETFs bought $244,940,000 in Ethereum this week. Largest weekly inflow in almost 4 months.” These figures signal revitalized institutional appetite following subdued activity in preceding months.

The positive momentum in weekly capital flows had been developing progressively. Inflows registered $105.44 million on July 17 and $103.90 million on July 24 before gaining additional traction through August.
Bitcoin-focused ETFs similarly attracted $98.85 million in net capital on August 7, marking the fifth consecutive day of positive movement. Spot Ethereum ETFs contributed an additional $49.60 million during the same trading session, maintaining a four-day positive sequence.
Large Holder Accumulation Reinforces Bullish Outlook
Two significant wallet addresses purchased 80,000 ETH totaling $152 million in value. The first major holder withdrew 30,000 ETH valued at $57.21 million from Coinbase Prime, distributing the holdings across three fresh wallet addresses. A second substantial investor secured 50,000 ETH worth $95.73 million from a wallet associated with Fidelity.
The Whale Sentiment Index for Ethereum maintained readings above 60 for a two-day span and sustained levels above 50 throughout a six-day stretch. Current readings hover near 66, indicating substantial acquisition activity among major stakeholders.
However, selling pressure exists among certain large holders. One veteran wallet address offloaded 7,323 ETH for $13.96 million, recording a $6 million realized loss. This particular wallet maintained ETH positions since February 2022 and March 2023, with an average acquisition price of $2,723.
Technical analyst Ali Charts (@alicharts) observed on X that Ethereum’s monthly timeframe generated two TD Sequential buy indicators last month — specifically a black 9 and an S13 formation. He emphasized that every TD Sequential signal appearing on monthly charts during the previous four years has successfully identified ETH trend directions, with historical signals forecasting a -75% decline in April 2022 and a +236% advance in September 2022. He proposed these current signals might catalyze a fresh rally toward $3,000 if historical patterns repeat.
ETHEREUM: TWO MONTHLY BUY SIGNALS
Last month, the TD Sequential flashed two buy signals on Ethereum’s monthly chart: a black 9 and an S13.

Critical Price Levels Under Focus
The Relative Strength Index for ETH registers 61.03, positioned in constructive territory while avoiding overbought conditions. The MACD indicator reads 10.31, marginally exceeding the 9.85 signal threshold, accompanied by a positive histogram value of 0.46.
ETH is currently trading above both its 20-day and 50-day moving averages while testing resistance at the 100-day moving average. A decisive breakthrough at this technical level could establish a trajectory toward the 200-day EMA positioned at $2,147.
A confirmed breakout above $1,920 would bring $1,960 into immediate focus, subsequently targeting the psychological $2,000 threshold. Should ETH encounter rejection at $1,920, initial downside support emerges at $1,880, with secondary support established at $1,860.
Legislative developments continue as the U.S. Senate commenced initial voting procedures on the CLARITY Act on August 8. The proposed legislation requires a 60-vote approval threshold before potentially advancing to September voting sessions.
