TRON has paused TRX LayerZero OFT bridges as it reviews recent security concerns linked to the LayerZero bridge. The company said the TRON network remains secure and unaffected. It added that further updates will follow when more information is available.
The pause came as TRON also expanded talks in Kyrgyzstan. On April 18, Justin Sun met President Sadyr Japarov in Bishkek. Their meeting focused on digital finance, blockchain rules, and new Web3 plans in Central Asia.
TRON pauses bridge activity during review
TRON described the pause as a precautionary measure. The company linked the decision to recent security concerns around the LayerZero bridge. It did not report any direct issue on the TRON network.
In its statement, TRON said, “The TRON network remains fully secure and unaffected.” It also said the bridge halt is temporary. No timeline was given for reopening the service.
The move affects TRX LayerZero OFT bridge activity. Users must wait for another update before using that route again. For now, the review remains the company’s main focus.
Kyrgyzstan meeting adds wider context
On April 18, Sun held an official meeting with President Japarov in Bishkek. The talks centered on virtual assets, digital finance, and TRON’s plans in Central Asia. The meeting marked TRON’s first strategic push in the region.
President Japarov set out the country’s aim for the sector. He said, “Our strategic goal is to establish Kyrgyzstan as a regional hub for virtual assets and Web3 technology in Central Asia.” He also said the industry is growing, while rules and infrastructure are improving.
Sun said TRON’s network fits that direction because of its low fees and fast transaction settlement. He also said Kyrgyzstan has favorable conditions for digital growth. These include a young population, renewable energy, and open policy support.
Six proposals shape future cooperation
During the talks, Sun presented six proposals for cooperation. They covered support for a regional digital economy hub and wider use of the KGST national stablecoin on the TRON network. The plans also included fintech investment, exchange development, and digital banking services.
The proposals also covered a Kyrgyz language large language model, an AI and crypto sandbox, and green data centers powered by hydropower. In addition, Sun briefed the president on HTX and its plan to apply for an operating license in Kyrgyzstan.
Japarov said Kyrgyzstan has made progress in digital economy laws and regulation. He also cited Chainalysis data showing the country ranks 19th in global crypto adoption. He added that amendments to the “Virtual Assets Law” passed earlier this year, and a licensing agency will be named soon.
