On April 9, Amazon Pharmacy integrated Eli Lilly’s recently approved weight-loss medication Foundayo into its distribution network, enabling same-day delivery and immediate in-clinic pickup options nationwide.
Foundayo represents an oral formulation of GLP-1 medication designed for adults managing obesity or excess weight accompanied by related medical complications. The pill format eliminates refrigeration requirements that characterize injectable GLP-1 treatments, simplifying storage and kiosk-based distribution.
Amazon Pharmacy’s GLP-1 medication distribution dates back to 2021. The service incorporated Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy pill into its kiosk program in January 2026, making Foundayo the second oral GLP-1 medication available through this channel.
Patients with insurance coverage can obtain Foundayo for as low as $25 monthly, equivalent to $1 daily. Uninsured customers face a $149 monthly cost. The platform automatically processes available manufacturer coupons during the checkout process.
Tanvi Patel, who serves as Vice President and General Manager of Amazon Pharmacy, stated the initiative aims to eliminate obstacles preventing patients from obtaining weight management medications.
Same-day delivery service currently spans nearly 3,000 municipalities. The company allocated more than $4 billion during 2025 to enhance its delivery infrastructure, targeting expansion to 4,500 locations by 2026’s end. Customers in rural and isolated areas will receive next-day, two-day, or three-day delivery service.
One Medical Clinic Kiosk Integration
Amazon intends to deploy in-office kiosks at designated One Medical facilities. This will allow customers to obtain Foundayo immediately following their medical appointments, eliminating delivery wait times.
The Wegovy pill kiosk program launched in California at five One Medical sites. Patel indicated future kiosk installations might expand beyond Amazon-operated clinics to additional healthcare providers, subject to state regulatory requirements.
One Medical membership is not mandatory for booking appointments or utilizing kiosk services. An annual membership is priced at $199 for individuals seeking continued access to primary care services.
LillyDirect Integration and Prescriber Network
Amazon Pharmacy processes prescriptions submitted via LillyDirect, Eli Lilly’s direct-to-consumer healthcare platform. Same-day delivery access extends to prescriptions written through Lilly’s partner prescribers, including WeightWatchers.
Laura Steele, Group Vice President for U.S. Cardiometabolic Health at Eli Lilly, noted patients may receive Foundayo on the same day or collect it directly at their physician’s office.
Lilly launched Foundayo sales at $149 monthly for the entry-level dose through LillyDirect last week for cash-paying customers.
Amazon Pharmacy delivers round-the-clock access to licensed pharmaceutical professionals and provides continuous care coordination through Amazon One Medical, featuring clinical assessments and treatment guidance.
Amazon (AMZN) stock experienced an approximate 3.5% increase on the day the Foundayo distribution partnership was publicly announced.
