Crypto.com CEO Kris Marszalek has made headlines by purchasing the ultra-premium domain AI.com for $70 million, paid entirely in cryptocurrency. This record-setting deal marks a major move into the AI space, as Marszalek prepares to launch a powerful new consumer AI agent platform. Set to debut with a Super Bowl LX commercial, the platform promises to let users build and deploy AI agents for messaging, trading, and more.
Largest Public Domain Sale Paid Entirely in Cryptocurrency
Crypto.com CEO Kris Marszalek has acquired the AI.com domain for about $70 million. The transaction was completed using cryptocurrency, and it is believed to be the largest publicly disclosed domain name sale to date.
The domain had been listed for $100 million in March 2025. Marszalek completed the purchase in April 2025, according to a LinkedIn post by domain broker Larry Fischer. The seller was identified as Arsyan Ismail.

This purchase surpasses earlier domain sales such as CarInsurance.com at $49.7 million and Chat.com at over $15.5 million. Although Cars.com was valued at over $800 million in 2014, that figure was part of a broader acquisition deal.
AI.com to Launch with Super Bowl Commercial
The AI.com platform will officially launch during Super Bowl LX on Sunday. A commercial will introduce the platform to a wide audience. Marszalek will serve as CEO of both Crypto.com and AI.com.
The new service allows users to create personal AI agents. These agents can send messages, trade stocks, run tasks across apps, and assist with building digital projects. According to the company, each user’s data will be encrypted with individual keys for added security.
Marszalek said in a press release, “We are at a fundamental shift in AI’s evolution as we rapidly move beyond basic chats to AI agents actually getting things done for humans.”
Domain Strategy Mirrors Crypto.com’s Branding Approach
This purchase follows Marszalek’s strategy of investing in high-value domain names. Before this, he acquired Crypto.com in 2018 after launching the company as Monaco in 2016. The Crypto.com domain was purchased for an estimated $5–10 million.
Crypto.com has also made other large branding investments. In 2021, the company paid $700 million to rename Los Angeles’ Staples Center to Crypto.com Arena. It also spent $100 million on an ad campaign featuring actor Matt Damon.
Marszalek told the Financial Times he had received several high offers for AI.com. However, he has no plans to sell it. “We will make this work one way or another,” he said.
Crypto.com Expands Amid Broader AI and Web3 Push
AI.com is not the only new initiative Marszalek is overseeing. Just days before the domain news, Crypto.com launched a new standalone prediction markets app called OG. This move also aligns with the company’s efforts around the Super Bowl.
Crypto.com reports over 150 million users and $1.5 billion in yearly revenue. The company’s recent focus has included expanding into AI, Web3, and predictive technologies.
The AI.com platform marks a new direction for Marszalek. It combines his interest in cryptocurrency, user-focused platforms, and emerging technologies. The Super Bowl launch is expected to give the new brand strong visibility from day one.
