Taiwan Semiconductor disclosed impressive June sales figures on Monday, revealing a 67.9% year-over-year surge to NT$442.68 billion. The announcement came on Monday rather than the typical Friday release due to interruptions from Typhoon Bavi.
Shares of TSMC responded positively with a 1% increase.

The financial performance surpassed market projections, with second-quarter aggregate sales totaling NT$1.270 trillion ($39.63 billion), representing a 36% year-over-year gain. This figure topped the chipmaker’s own upper forecast of $40.2 billion.
Looking at the six-month period ending June 2026, TSMC’s aggregate sales achieved NT$2.4 trillion ($74.99 billion), marking a 35.6% advancement compared to the corresponding timeframe in the previous year.
Sravan Kundojjala, an industry analyst with SemiAnalysis, characterized the performance as “quite robust.” He emphasized that June sales historically tend to decline on a month-over-month basis when examining the past four years of data — highlighting the exceptional nature of this report.
“The demand supply situation in AI is still quite tight and TSMC is sold out on N3, which is targeted by all leading AI GPU and CPUs this year,” Kundojjala said.
Artificial Intelligence Revenue Projected to Exceed $40 Billion
Kundojjala projects Taiwan Semiconductor will achieve more than $40 billion in AI chip sales during 2026, potentially representing approximately 25% of overall revenue.
According to Counterpoint Research data from Q1 2026, TSMC commands a 73% portion of the worldwide pure-foundry marketplace. Major customers include Nvidia, Apple, and AMD.
These impressive June results emerge just days ahead of Taiwan Semiconductor’s second-quarter financial report, slated for Thursday, July 16. Beyond the raw numbers, industry watchers will scrutinize the company’s forward-looking commentary for subsequent quarters. TSMC is broadly regarded as an indicator for the overall semiconductor manufacturing sector.
Southern Taiwan Facility Development
Regarding infrastructure development, Taiwan Semiconductor intends to construct two advanced chip packaging operations at the Chiayi Science Park in southern Taiwan, according to Reuters coverage. Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council Minister Wu Cheng-wen verified that the initial facility has already commenced mass production, with the second installation anticipated to begin operations imminently.
On a sequential basis, June sales also demonstrated a 6.2% improvement from May — another metric that attracted analyst interest considering the seasonal pattern of June softness.
Taiwan Semiconductor is scheduled to unveil complete Q2 financial results on July 16.
